Music in Film

woodstockffbanner2016On a recent perfect fall weekend of movies+music in the Catskills during the 2016 Woodstock Film Festival, Christina Kotlar and Yuri Turchyn are absorbed in the art of conversation sorting through a carefully chosen weekend schedule of award winning films, picking out the sounds that underscored the visually beautifully-made sights– Alexander North’s Moon Music & Prelude for Rebel Citizen, a documentary on an award winning cinematographer and local Woodstock resident Haskell Wexler  during the full moon– a Hunter Moon –over Woodstock; Barry Gibb and Vusi Mohlasela Angel for the Maverick Award winner Shepherds and Butchers; Music For Carnival for Play The Devil; and Skip James’ Hard Time Killin’ Floor Blues for the complementary film to the American Epic trilogy, Two Trains Runnin’. Enjoy the show.
